About Grace Baptist Church

We are a Reformed Baptist Congregation that has been located here in South Central PA since 1969. We are a member of ARBCA (The Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America), an association of churches which all subscribe to the London Baptist Confession of 1689, and that seeks to promote mutual fellowship, cooperation and support for missions and church planting endeavors both in North America and around the world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to glorify God as a local community of gospel-centered people who:

Worship God only as He commands and in spirit and truth (Jn. 4:24; Acts 2:42).

Serve one another by exercising our spiritual gifts (I Cor. 12:4-7; Eph. 4:11-16).

Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world (Mt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Live out a biblical worldview in all spheres of life (Jer. 29:7; Mt. 5:13-16).

Our Doctrinal Distinctives

We embrace that heritage handed down from the 16th Century Protestant Reformation which has been summarized in what are referred to as "The Five Solas": Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus and Soli Deo Gloria

We believe the Bible alone is the inspired Word of God, inerrant, infallible and sufficient.

We subscribe to the London Baptist Confession of 1689 as a faithful summary of what the Bible teaches.

We adhere to a Reformed view of doctrine and worship.

We affirm that Sunday is "The Lord's Day" according to the Bible and that it is the Sabbath for the Christian era.  This means that it is to be remembered and kept holy according to the principle of the fourth commandment.

We view corporate worship as the center piece of the Christianˈs keeping of the Lordˈs Day.

We practice the baptism of believers upon a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

We look forward to the personal, physical return of Jesus Christ to this earth.

  We are non-Pentecostal.

Our Practical Distinctives

We are ruled by a plurality of elders under the headship of Jesus Christ.

We encourage the exercise of God-given gifts in service to others.

  We emphasize consecutive, expository preaching.

We require of each other in our daily walk and conversation loyal obedience to all those moral precepts established in Godˈs Word and especially in the 10 commandments.

  We practice biblical church discipline.

We are devoted to reverent, God-centered, biblically-ordered worship.

We are committed to private and corporate prayer.

We are actively involved in world missions.

  We are community-minded.

We are calling lost sinners to faith in Christ and repentance toward God.

  We cooperate with like-minded churches.

We care about being responsible, godly citizens

We help prepare future church leaders.

We support and practice biblical counseling.

We affirm, assist and encourage families.

We promote fellowship throughout the week.
